MODELS OF INTERACTION BETWEEN NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FIELD OF TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION OF DRUG ADDICTION

Abstract

This article examines the interactions between non-governmental organizations in the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relevance of the study stems from the need to improve the effectiveness of drug addiction treatment through the development of interorganizational collaboration. The aim of the study is to identify mechanisms of interaction between non-governmental organizations and assess their impact on the effectiveness of the assistance provided.

The methodological basis of the study is a qualitative sociological approach using case studies. The study conducted a comparative analysis of the activities of two non-governmental organizations implementing medical and social rehabilitation approaches to drug addiction treatment. Effectiveness was assessed based on the criteria of focus of activity, sustainability of results, and level of social integration.

The study revealed that the medical approach provides short-term results but is characterized by a high risk of relapse, while the social rehabilitation approach promotes more sustainable results but requires a long-term period and comprehensive support. It was also established that a lack of coordination between organizations reduces the overall effectiveness of their activities. The scientific novelty of this study lies in its systematization of the forms of interaction between non-governmental organizations and its substantiation of the need to integrate medical and social approaches within inter-organizational collaboration. The practical significance of this work lies in the potential application of the proposed recommendations in developing drug addiction treatment programs in Kazakhstan.
